A Tribute to Simplicity

On a Friday like this, I feel like sending a tribute to the simple things in life. To all the uncomplicated and to the accessible. To things that are peaceful and quiet. A tribute to all the little details that can be so important, but so easy to forget. A greeting, a smile, a wink with the eye. Why not give a pad on the shoulder to all that is earthbound and manageable. A good cup of coffee, a spot of green grass, a good book or a long walk with the dog – or maybe just nothing, plain and wonderful nothing…

There are days like this one, where you just want to turn off some of all the glitter and glam, just for a moment. Turn off the top of the pops and let some hot air out of the balloon before it overheats. Just for second, to forget all about being bigger, better, faster, smarter, newer, skinnier and more trendy. The concept of ‘greed’ does not exist today! Could we have a little less ‘more’ – and a little more ‘less’, thank you very much…

And while we are at it, please let´s have a rest from all the commercial rat race and craze – just for a short while. Let´s just have a moment of peace from all the glitter, thank you. All the worthless glitter. From the blitzkrieg of publicity that invades every nano second we live and every atom of air we inhale.
Let´s just take af brake and breathe some air without a price tag, shall we?

Gone Fishing.

Let us forget all about economic growth – but invest a spare second in human growth. Let ´s not identify growth with dollars, pounds and euros, but let the word ‘growth’ be something we cultivate in our personalities, to become a little better as human beings.
Let´s turn down the ambition and the thought of all we have to achieve and deliver. Let´s get rid of the foot-stomping impatience. Let´s take some time – and give some…

Also a tribute to slowness, to patience – and not least – to tolerance. To recess, breathing space and to respite. In other words, hurray for the right to pull out the plug!
May you all have a nice and peaceful weekend – and please remember; the weekend does not really end until Monday morning…
